Shawn
Born and raised in Christchurch New Zealand, I trained and worked as a chef at the award-winning George Boutique Hotel for four years before packing my bags and setting out to explore our great wide world.
Between adventures, I had the privilege to work in some amazing restaurants and learn from critically acclaimed, passionate and talented chefs throughout New Zealand, the UK and Australia.
It was during my time in Scotland, however, that I met my Australian wife Hayley, and followed her home to the Gold Coast. While we have continued to explore our beautiful planet, we're not quite as nomadic as we once were and I've spent the last 15 years running kitchens in various hotels and cafes in Brisbane and on the coast.

Born and raised in Brisbane, I set out on my global adventures in my late teens. After several years working and travelling through the USA, Canada, UK and Europe I found myself a Kiwi in Scotland that I decided to bring home for keeps.
Once home, I returned to University to complete a Bachelor of Primary Education and have been working as a teacher for Education Queensland ever since.
Now, after more than 15 years together, with a continuing passion for doing things a little differently, it is finally time to launch our own brand- Rebel Fork.
We have been keen to have our own business for several years, however, we have spent enough time in the hospitality industry to recognise that the demands of opening a brick and mortar café or bistro was not going to allow us to spend the quality time with our two young daughters that they deserve.
A food truck gives us flexibility and a chance to do things differently as well as providing the opportunity to meet new people and visit amazing events and locations.
We consider it a privilege to be a part of a client’s special event, whether it be a party, wedding or corporate celebration, and we take the responsibility of catering these functions very seriously.
While we have various menu options available for selection, as an experienced chef, Shawn also has the knowledge, skills and creativity required to create alternative dishes to suit your needs. He is more than happy to work with you to find the right menu for your event.
We believe that attention to detail and great communication is the key to success and will strive to ensure that all bases are covered to help make your event one to remember!
